Mythology
Roles: figure, culture, narrative, moral, transformation, threshold
Sacred or traditional narratives that encode a culture’s understanding of origins, values, and the boundaries of the possible. Mythological figures undergo transformations and cross boundaries (mortal/divine, human/animal) that ordinary beings cannot. Productive as a source domain because myths compress complex cultural knowledge into memorable archetypal patterns.
